This calculator evaluates the following Clinical Criteria:

Red rash facial cheeks and nasal bridge
Red, scaly rash on the face, scalp, ears, arms or chest, possible atrophic scarring
Photosensitive rash
Small ulcers on mucosal linings, nose or mouth
Pain in the joints of the hands, arms, shoulders, hips, legs, feet or jaw, sometimes migratory, associated with heat, redness and swelling
Pleurisy, pericarditis, possibly aseptic peritonitis
Elevated protein and/or cellular casts in the urine: >0.5 gm proteinuria / day or >3+ protein on dip stick
Seizures or psychosis
Cytopenia, hemolytic anemia, WBC <4000, plt <100K, lymphs <1500
Immunologic positive anti-DNA test, anti-Sm, anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant or false-positive test for syphilis (positive at least 6 months)
Antinuclear antibody (ANA) Positive in the absence of drugs know to induce ANA's
