Cerner Corporation to Integrate MedCalc 3000 Medical Calculators into EHR
Pittsburgh, PA Foundation Internet Services has announced that Cerner Corporation plans to integrate MedCalc 3000 medical calculators into its Electronic Health Record (EHR) products. This agreement builds on Cerner's growing emphasis on clinical decision support at the point of care.
By integrating MedCalc 3000's unique medical tool set encompassing a wide array of pertinent medical formulae, clinical criteria sets and decision tree analysis tools, Cerner's EHR will help healthcare providers further improve their understanding of complex clinical situations.
"With growing emphasis and application of Evidence Based Medicine, there has never been a greater need for the integration of a system such as MedCalc 3000 with Electronic Health Records," said Foundation Internet Services founder and CEO, Dr. Louis Leff MD, FACP. "We are thrilled that Cerner is taking the lead on this important step towards improving clinical decision making."
In the upcoming months, Cerner and Foundation Internet Services will work closely to evolve the MedCalc 3000 system to automatically access information in the clinical EHR database to help further automate clinical decision support.
